We are sad to report the passing of our former player Joe Rawle yesterday.

He was due to attend the induction of the 1991/92 double team on the Wall of Fame last Thursday but was unable to attend due to ill-health.

Part of the Management Team at the time was Micky Brennan who said today,

“Joe was a great team player, well liked, scored goals and a very strong centre forward.  He came with the Worcester gang of Nigel Russell, Shaun Cotterill, Ricky Hooman and Chas Jones. The best admiration a player can have is when the players themselves had a song about him – He’s fat he’s round he’s worth a million pound Joey Rawle.  He was loved by the management Dave Clements and myself, and of course the players.”

The thoughts and best wishes of everyone connected with Evesham United Football Club go to his family, friends and all in the football world who knew him at this difficult time.

Joe is on the far right on the front row with the 1991-92 double winning squad.
