We can announce that Paul West will stand down as First Team Manager at the end of the season. Paul will shortly become Director of Football, which will mean developing the expanding Junior and Youth sections which has over 340 players and taking it to the next level.  The club wishes to thank Paul for his hard work managing the first team this season.

Chairman Jim Cockerton said: “The club are looking to move forward. We are going to do that and he’s the ideal appointment as director of football. He’s a great ambassador for the club. He is well respected here and he will be in charge of all football from the 23 junior teams to the first-team manager. Although we are disappointed with the results, we put it down to first-year blues at the new stadium.”

Paul West said: “It’s an opportunity I didn’t want to waste and I can use my energies where they’re better suited. It will be a link from the first team to the board and I am looking forward to that. The new manager will be their own man but it’s nice to know they will have someone at board level to help.”

Paul had a four year career in the Football League with Port Vale, Bradford City, and Wigan Athletic, before moving on to Evesham United via Morecambe. He spent nine years playing for Evesham making over 300 appearances, including a spell as club captain.  He was appointed as the club’s manager in 2006, before stepping down in November 2011.  He returned to manage the club in November 2012.

He led the club to the Southern Football League Division One Midlands title in 2007–08, as well as two Worcestershire Senior Cup final victories.  The 2008-9 season saw him guide Evesham to the FA Cup First Round for the first time in their history and also reach their highest ever league position of 9th in the Southern Premier League.

Therefore the club is looking for a new first team manager.  Interested applicants should telephone the Chairman Jim Cockerton on 07817 869296, or email him at lcockerton@btinternet.com
