Four second-half goals made it three wins on the bounce as Evesham overcame a stubborn Pershore side in their latest pre-season friendly at the King George V Playing Fields.  A strong defensive display from both sides resulted in a goalless first half, but that all changed inside the opening two minutes after the interval.  Luke Corbett got the better of two defenders before crossing to Leigh Downing who beat Town keeper Matt Ramage with a well directed header.

With the experienced Neil MacKenzie pulling the strings in midfield, United went 2-0 ahead four minutes later when Marcus Palmer beat Ramage all ends up from 25 yards.  MacKenzie and Corbett curled efforts just wide for the Robins before the lead was extended to three on 70 minutes.  Substitute Roland Agbor gave keeper Ramage no chance with a blistering drive that went in off the underside of the bar.

Agbor then turned provider for Evesham’s fourth and final goal with eight minutes to go.  The wingers pace and trickery got him to the bye-line before unselfishly squaring to the unmarked Corbett who had the simple task to notch his 3rd goal in two games.

Evesham: Coleman (Obiakou 77), Wilson, Hyde (Wood 65), Hutchison (Echo 85), Rhodes (Williams 58), Connor, Downing (Eze 60), Giertl (MacKenzie 45), Corbett, Tulloch, Palmer (Agbor 55)
