After taking the place of West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division side Worcester Raiders in the Red Recruitment Trophy, Evesham played their first game yesterday. They  began with a 3-3 draw at the Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium against Southern Premier Division Central side Redditch United.

Matt Williams scored twice

Redditch found themselves 3-0 up by the 35th minute, courtesy of some good finishes by Kieran Day, Ioan Richards and Dan Sweeney. Harry Franklin reduced the deficit  with an excellent shot before half-time. With the elements in their favour and a better second half display,  Evesham’s Matt Williams scored with six minutes of normal time remaining, before he added his second scoring from close range in the fifth minute of injury time.
