A make-shift Evesham side put up a brave fight before going down 2-1 to Cinderford Town in the Evo-Stik Southern South & West. The Robins went into the game missing six regulars through injury, suspension and unavailability and departing manager Paul West was forced to name four youth team players on the substitutes bench. Against the odds, itwas Evesham who took the lead after 25 minutes. Leigh Downing got on the end of a loose ball to fire home his 2nd goal in two games after Nathan Hands` initial shot had been charged down.

This was to last just four minutes, Lewis Sommers pulling the Foresters level with a deflected shot from outside the box. The experienced Lee Smith ballooned a shot over for the visitors, before Cinderford scored what was to be the winning goal with 34 minutes played. The alert Smith followed-up to find the target after Andy Lewis` drive had been pushed aside by keeper Ben McNamara.

The start of the second-half was delayed while a replacement was found in the crowd after an injury to one of the referee`s assistants. When play resumed Luke Corbett squandered a great chance to level the scores when he shot over with only keeper Alex Harris to beat. Evesham continued to take the game to Cinderford, an unmarked Downing headed wide and Corbett again blazed wildly over following good work from James Blake. The final chance of the game fell Evesham`s way, but after holding off the challenge of two defenders Downing contrived to pull his shot wide with Harris rooted to his line.
