Matt Sysum Debutant

Two goals in the last 14 minutes sent Evesham crashing to their fifth home defeat of the season and enabled visitors Swindon Supermarine to register their 7th successive victory in the Evo-Stik Southern South & West. Marine`s Ashley Edenborough did the damage scoring twice late on to leave United with just one win in eight games. It could have been worse for the Robins had Edenborough not missed a first half penalty. Henry Eze was adjudged to have fouled Edenborough in the box but Matt Cross in the United goal produced a fine save to push aside the striker`s resulting spot-kick.
In the second half Danny Allen rattled the Evesham woodwork with a well struck free-kick and Kyle Lapham tested keeper Cross as Swindon pressed for the opening goal. But it was Evesham who wasted the best opportunity to go in front. Leading scorer Marcus Palmer outpaced the visitor`s defence but dragged his shot wide of the target when faced with only Marine stopper Kent Kauppinen to beat. The miss proved costly when Swindon replied scoring twice in a three minute spell to claim the win. Edenborough got on the end of Danny Hilder`s delivery from the left to side-foot the visitors ahead and then in Marine`s next attack gave Cross no chance as he slotted in his 12th goal of the season. Kauppinen then prevented Palmer from reducing the deficit in added time when he made a flying save to touch over from the Evesham frontman.
