Evesham defeated their visitors from North Devon, Barnstaple Town at the Jubilee today with a brace of headers from midfielder Matt Liddiard.

It was a first half with few chances created, the best was a fierce drive from Lewis Binns that was blocked by a defender for a corner two minutes before half-time.  Resolute defending from the visitors was the key to the first half.

The second half saw an improved performance from the hosts with opportunities for Lewis Powell with a header over the bar, Ethan Moore and a shot following a scramble by Liddiard.

The introduction of Bradley Gray brought some joy to proceedings as his two assists created two goals.  Firstly in the 73rd minute a corner from him was headed home powerfully by Matt Liddiard.  Four minutes later the Robins doubled their lead when a Gray free-kick was again headed home by Liddiard.

The hosts did most of the attacking in the second half, with the visitors giving precious little going forward relying on forays into the Evesham half on the break.
