Evesham’s run of four successive wins was not added to tonight in a committed encounter with Slimbridge.
In a game that took time to get going, Evesham had the better of the first half without creating any real clear cut chances, although Carl Brown and Clayton Green went closest to scoring.
Slimbridge had their best spell of the game early in the second half and Evesham made a triple substitution on the hour to try and change things round.  However it was the visitors who took the lead in the 67th minute when Paul Fahy scored with a shot from the edge of the area. Evesham responded well and seven minutes later skipper Matt Sysum scored with a header from close range that just crossed the line despite the best efforts of keeper George Burton.
Overall a fair result with Evesham not at their best against a hard working and combative Slimbridge team.  The home side stay in 9th position.
