Cirencester Town went top of the league after winning 3-2 at the Jubilee Stadium today. The visitors scored an early goal through James Mortimer-Jones after a poor clearance.  On 35 minutes it was 2-0 when Jared Wilson was penalised for a foul on Lee Smith, with the resultant spot-kick scored by Steve Davis.

With the wind at their backs, Evesham came out with more conviction in the second-half creating a number of half chances in the first 20 minutes.  On 74 minutes the pressure was rewarded when an Ed Williams corner went to Marcus Palmer whose shot was blocked with the ball falling to Carl Brown who scored from 12 yards.  Evesham continued to press but were thwarted in their attempts to equalise when Lee Smith scored for Cirencester after another defensive lapse.

On 88 minutes Michael Tambling was brought down in the box which led to a second yellow card for Ben Prictor.  Skipper Richard Mansell scored the resultant penalty.  Carl Brown shot over in injury time that would have got Evesham a deserved draw for their second half display.
