Sholing 1-0 Evesham United

report from Sholing FC website

Boatmen overcame a battling Evesham side and also the gale force wind to make it 4 wins in a row. With 50mph gusts down the length of the pitch the whole game, flowing football was never going to be the winner. Conor Whiteley drilled in a low shot from the edge of the area on 63 mins to break the deadlock.  Conor had come closest to scoring in the first half with a 35 yard dipping freekick that was tipped onto the bar.  The woodwork denied Conor again in the second half, as it did Brad Targett, who chipped the keeper and saw his effort come back off the inside of the upright.  Evesham had a lot of possession, but Gosney was only tested a couple of times as the strong Sholing defence made it only 1 goal conceded in the last 5 games as we stay close on the heels of the league leaders.
