Paul Fahy faces a race against the clock to make his long-awaited Evesham United return at home to Slimbridge tonight (7.45) according to the Worcester News.
Beset by shoulder problems in recent weeks, Fahy’s comeback would be welcome with Lewis Binns and Andy Lewis carrying knocks from Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Didcot Town.
The setback saw Robins slip back out of the play-off places with manager Paul Collicutt keen to oversee a return to form at the Jubilee Stadium.
“There is no way we can underestimate them,” said Collicutt. “They turned us over at our place last season so we know it will be a hard game, particularly with us carrying a few injuries.
“Paul will have a fitness test. He has been out of the equation for a few weeks now but has a chance.
“Lewis picked up a knock and is 50-50. Andy felt a bit of pull so we took him off as a precaution on Saturday because he could have made it worse.”
Collicutt also hopes to have more news on striker Lewis Powell’s groin problem.
“He was due to have an MRI scan yesterday with the possibility of an injection dependent on the result. We will have to wait to see.
“I doubt he will play in midweek and it all rests on the results as to what may happen ahead of Saturday,” he added.
