Limited number of tickets available for Evesham clash.

Spectators will be welcomed back to Sixways for the first time in almost six months on Friday when Worcester Raiders Football Club host local rivals Evesham United in a pre-season friendly (kick-off 7.45pm).

Although Warriors continue to play matches behind closed doors in the recently resumed 2019/20 Gallagher Premiership season due to COVID-19 social distancing regulations, the Football Association recently gave approval for a limited number of spectators to attend matches played by clubs from step three to six of the non-league pyramid.

The decision applies to Raiders and means that a crowd of 150 can be admitted for Friday’s match. Clubs can currently hold up to 15 per cent of their stadium capacity, a ratio that will increase to 30 per cent from August 31.

Raiders, who play in the West Midlands Regional League Premier Division, played at Sixways for the first time last week when they drew 1-1 with Tividale, a match that was played behind closed doors.

The Evesham friendly will be the first time that spectators have been allowed entry to Sixways since Northampton Saints visited for a Gallagher Premiership match on March 6.

“We are delighted to welcome fans back to Sixways after months of moth balling the stadium,” said Managing Director Peter Kelly.

“The FA at this level have restricted the numbers to 150 for this first game and will increase over time. We hope the fans who do come, enjoy the occasion and we see a great game of football.”

Tickets for the match, which are on a first come first served basis, are available from Warriors’ online Ticket Office and must be purchased in advance.

Tickets are collection only from the Ticket Office on the day of the game and entry will be via the Fanzone turnstiles. Tickets will not be available to buy on the gate.

All tickets are for unreserved seating in the East Stand, with stewards seating supporters on the night to ensure social distancing is adhered to.

Supporters can purchase a maximum of two tickets per online booking priced at £5 adults, £3 juniors and £3 for over 65s.

The bar will be open in the Fanzone and there will be a burger bar serving food.
