Manager Paul Collicutt admits Evesham United will be taking a step into the unknown when they visit Newcastle Town in the FA Cup Preliminary Round tomorrow (3pm) according to the Worcester News.

The Robins will travel to Buckmaster Avenue to take on the Staffordshire side who are 15th in Northern Premier League Division One South.

But Collicutt insists he does not know what to expect from The Castle having never come up against them in the past.

“We don’t know a great deal about them,” Collicutt said.

“They play in a different league and I have never played or coached against Newcastle so it’s new ground for me.

Evesham have collected four points from their opening two games in Southern League Division One South and West.

They came from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw at Larkhall Athletic before claiming a 1-0 win over Cinderford Town on Wednesday through Mat Liddiard’s late goal.

“We are pleased with how things have gone,” Collicutt said.

“But we still haven’t played to the level I know we can so there is certainly room for improvement.”

Collicutt also confirmed striker Greg Peel will be out for two weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.

“We may make one or two changes for tomorrow’s game so we will see what happens,” he added.
