Evesham Head Through To Final

Evesham United Colts under 15s played once again at their best to come from behind to beat Drakes Broughton Rangers under 15s 3-1. With a tense 2-2 draw last time out, both sides felt they had the winning edge. Rangers took the lead early on, when a ball over the top of the Evesham defence fell perfectly for the Rangers striker, who hit the ball firmly across the face of the goal, into the net to take the lead. Evesham levelled before half time, when a cross from Matt Mottram found Will McGarr in the box who volleyed home the equaliser over the keeper.

Both sides had chances early on in the second half, but a free kick from Will McGarr which was hit hard at the keeper, made the keeper unable to catch the ball, which allowed Robert Rojek to place the rebound into the net to put Evesham ahead. Drakes Broughton hit back, and were almost awarded a goal but was stopped by a great save by the Evesham keeper, who quickly got down to his left to stop the shot. With attack after attack, Drakes Broughton searched for an equaliser, but were caught out on the break when Robert Rojek was brought down in the box. Will McGarr placed the penalty coolly into the bottom corner sealing a place in the final for Evesham.

Both teams and supporters were congratulated by the referee for their good sportsmanship and respect.
