The EUFC Under 18 side booked their place in this seasons Worcestershire FA County Cup Final with a hard fought victory against the side who beat them in last seasons final – Bromsgrove Sporting.
Evesham took the lead through a glancing header from Sam Clark, Bromsgrove hit back with a clever free kick which deceived the keeper. Bromsgrove then took the lead with a header, before Ben Hunt hit a volley through a crowded area to level the score at 2-2.
This took the game to penalties and after the initial 5 each the scores were level at 3-3, so it entered sudden death, where it went like for like over the next 8 penalties, thanks to goals, misses and good saves from both keepers. Eventually after both sides had taken 9 each, Bromsgrove’s keeper missed, and Will Middleton took the opportunity to convert to give Evesham a 6-5 victory.
Evesham’s Under 21’s continued their fine season with a 3-1 victory against Sutton Coldfield Town. Goal scorers were Ryan Reeves, Brad Izod and Dylan Hart.
