THE return of Garyn Preen will give Evesham United a “much-needed lift” at home to relegation-threatened Slimbridge tomorrow (3pm) according to the Worcester News.
The ex-Wales under 19 international has left Hungerford Town by mutual consent and goes into the Robins squad for the Southern League Division One South and West tussle.
Play-off chasing United are without a win in four matches and have slipped to fourth in the table.
Injuries and suspension have hit the Robins’ squad.
“Garyn enjoyed a loan spell with us in December and January and we are delighted he has become an Evesham United player,” said manager Paul Collicutt.
“After a difficult and frustrating week for us he will give everyone at Evesham a much-needed lift.”
Evesham’s Archie Haskayne starts a three-match ban after his dismissal in the 4-1 drubbing at Winchester City.
“Lewis Binns, Paul Fahy and Linden Dovey are all among those injured, while Brad Gray has just finished a course of antibiotics after an infection,” he said.
“It has been a frustrating and difficult week and 3pm tomorrow can’t come quickly enough.
“Quite a few players will have fitness tests and I expect some to be on the treatment table until just before kick-off.
“Last weekend’s result hurt my staff and I. We must be as positive as we can in the next 11 games because we need to be fighting for the play-offs.”
