    Evesham made it six wins in seven as they triumphed 2-0 at Mangotsfield United yesterday and moved to third place in the League table. As it stands before further midweek games are played by those around them, the Robins know that victory at home to AFC Totton on the final day will definitely secure a play-off spot.

  • Trip to Mangotsfield Tomorrow

    The Robins are possibly going to require maximum points from the final two games to secure their top-six play-off place and they head to Mangotsfield United in 16th on Saturday (3pm).  It will be the second game in less than 48 hours following the comfortable 4-0 victory at Shortwood United where Adam Mann with two, Matt Liddiard and Olly Mehew were the scorers.
    Evesham are on a roll having won five of their last six games, whilst the hosts have lost three of their last four matches.

    A brace from leading scorer Adam Mann ensured Evesham United strengthened their chances of a third play-off appearance in four years with a comfortable victory at Shortwood United.
    Mat Liddiard headed in the first after a cross by right-back Nick Hancock on the right in the 21st minute.

    Boss Paul Collicutt reckons Evesham United may need victories from all three remaining matches to win a hair-raising race for the Southern League West play-offs according to the Worcester News.
    The Robins remain in the top six after fighting back from behind to beat backmarkers and Collicutt’s former club Bishop’s Cleeve 2-1 on Saturday.
    United head to Shortwood United tonight (7.45) and Mangotsfield United on Saturday (3pm) before ending the league campaign at home to AFC Totton on Saturday, April 28.

    This local derby had been billed by Evesham supporters as ‘El Collico’ due to manager Paul Collicutt having managed both sides.
    Both teams started the game looking nervous, with neither side seeming to be able to hold on to the ball.  The nerves from the home side were understandable as nothing less than three points would keep them in the play-off hunt.     Paul Collicutt says he will only be able to celebrate his birthday on Saturday if Evesham United have beaten his former club Bishop’s Cleeve.
    Tuesday’s 3-0 win at Kidlington moved Evesham back into the Southern League Division One West play-off places with four matches left.
    The first of those is at home to the club Collicutt led into the Southern League in 2006.
    Cleeve are seven points adrift at the bottom and a 3-0 home defeat by Larkhall Athletic left them needing a remarkable turnaround to avoid dropping back to the Hellenic League.
