An introduction to the Management Team for the new Women’s Team.

Karen Robinson – Manager

Bio by her husband!
Karen has always been sporty .. when she was little she could mostly be found hanging upside down in the back garden practising her gymnastic moves.

Fast forward to her adult life she excelled at hockey, representing a variety of local teams, then while balancing work, and the challenge of bringing up a young family decided she wasn’t busy enough, so moved up the league tiers to represent Stourport Hockey Club at national level. Karen also had the honour of representing England in a masters tournament, plus representing the Hockey for Heroes squad in an 8 Day tour of the UK completing military challenges and 28 hockey games, all this whilst raising thousands of pounds for our military heroes.

Realising that Hockey & football had many interchangeable components, she took on the head coaching role for Evesham United Colts in 2016, achieving two promotions including a championship winning season in 2021.

Karen is now looking for her next challenge and believes that the Evesham United ladies team gives her the perfect platform to continue to help coach, develop new players to enjoy this fantastic game.

Andy Baird – Coach

In Andy’s words.
As a player I always strived to be the hardest working person on the pitch & lead by example.

– Positivity
– Hard work
– Flexibility
– Accountability
Are all principals I held as a player & I believe are just as important as a coach. Will always beats skill. If you do not have the Will to work hard skill will never be noticed.

It is very rare in any sport to get the chance to be involved with a completely new team starting up, so I feel extremely lucky to be a part this ladies team.

I will look to use my experiences at professional & semi professional football to help mould this new group of players into a team & again I will endeavour to be the hardest working person.

This team is a really exciting prospect for Evesham & I can’t wait to get started.
