An unfortunate clash of heads between Hereford duo Chris Carruthers and Greg Tindle forced Evesham’s pre-season friendly against the Bulls to be abandoned by referee Thomas Blanch after 65 minutes at the Spiers Hartwell Jubilee Stadium on Tuesday night.  After lengthy treatment on the pitch both players were escorted to the dressing rooms before being taken to Worcester Hospital for treatment.  It was a disappointing conclusion for the 286 spectators who had seen Evesham more than matches their higher graded opponents.  Dan Hanford in the Hereford goal saved well from Neil MacKenzie’s free-kick and at the other end Sean Canham forced a decent save out of Robin’s stopper Nick Thomas.

At the start of the second half Hanford made a good block to keep out Marcus Palmer and Hereford substitute Marley Watkins showed a good turn of pace only to drive wide of the target before Mr Blanch had no alternative but to call an early end to the proceedings with 25 minutes to play.
