Evesham continued their encouraging pre-season with a well-deserved draw against League One newcomers Shrewsbury Town.  Playing their third warm-up game in six days, Matt Clarke’s new-look side missing a host of new signings, gave as good as they got and will be pleased with their evenings work.

The best chance of an evenly matched first half fell to Town’s Marvin Morgan, who in space, directed Joe Jacobson’s inch perfect cross just wide.  Morgan had earlier got in a couple of good positions but failed to find the target while Evesham’s Henry Eze headed over at the back post from Pedram Ardallany’s corner.

Evesham keeper Nick Thomas was the busier after the interval gathering well at the second attempt from Shrew’substitute Jon Taylor and could only stand and watch Jacobsen strike the crossbar from distance.  Simeon Tulloch got round the Shrewsbury back four only to drag his shot wide and then stopper Thomas prevented Tom Bradshaw grabbing a late winner for the visitors by bravely smothering at the feet of the Shrewsbury substitute.
