WHAT UNITED SUPPORTERS THOUGHT OF THE 2016/17 SEASON

After an enthralling nine months of football, this is the fans reaction to United`s season, play-off heartache and hopes for next season.  The season started with a late defeat at Salisbury and ended the same way nine months later.

ANDY AIRNS – A United supporter for 20 years – “Disappointed we had one bad month that cost us home advantage in the play-offs. Hereford were always going
to be top dogs and gutted to lose the play-off semi-final at Salisbury. With two  or three new faces we can push on and go for the league next season.”

JOHN BISSETT – Began watching United 17 years ago – “We did well to finish fifth with all the injuries and suspensions. Couldn`t make the Salisbury game but told
we were unlucky not to win. Need some new players to freshen things up for the challenge ahead next season. I thought Kevin Sawyer had another good season
and understand he was excellent in the play-off game at Salisbury.”

GRAHAM FRANKLIN – Started following the Robins in 1974. “Disappointed how the season finished but the number of injuries killed us. Losing Joe Turley before
Christmas was a massive blow after that we struggled to put out a settled side. We need to improve in a number of areas if we are to be challenging for the league next season.”

PHIL GISBOURNE – A supporter for over 40 years – “I thought it was a good season on the whole but the injuries finally took their toll. We gave it a good go at Salisbury and I look forward with optimism to next season.”

RICHARD SOUTHERN – Followed the Red and Whites since the late 1980`s – ” I felt we had a decent season but the injury to Joe Turley was a big loss because
he was the glue that held everything together. We were disrupted by all the injuries and suspensions which forced Colly to play a number of players out of position. liam Harding and Ashley Williams were both very good throughout. I think we have the nucleus of a good side but need some quality signings and not like for like, if we are to go for it next season.”

DAVID STEWART – Began following the side when the Jubilee Stadium was opened in 2012 – “Did well considering all the injuries  and my Goal of the Season was
Linden Dovey`s brilliant effort against Hereford at Edgar street. The best performance was coming back from a goal down and with ten men to beat Larkhall
Athletic at their place, this opitimised the spirit and togetherness we have in the squad. We will no doubt lose players in the summer but the aim is for automatic
promotion and more  importantly for next season, I hope the bar is well stocked with bottles of `Proper Job`!!”

COLIN SUCH – A lifelong Evesham fan – “Pretty good season but dogged by some horrific injuries. Disappointing result against Salisbury because I felt the performance deserved more. Losing key players at regular intervals didn`t help matters and my Player of the Season was the impressive Liam Harding.”

GRAHAM SUTTON – Started watching United on the Crown Meadow – “Despite shipping a few silly points I thought it was a good season with Liam Harding
outstanding. The result at Salisbury was hard to take but if Colly adds some quality players I feel we can do it next season. We have a great team spirit but sometimes I think we are a soft touch a need to bully sides a bit more.”
