EVESHAM United head to North Leigh tomorrow (3pm) looking to take the positives from a frustrating week.

The Robins saw last Tuesday’s trip to Shortwood United fall foul of the weather, just three days after floodlight failure brought a premature halt to their home match against Wimborne Town. United were leading the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West game 3-0 when the power went off seven minutes before half-time and manager Paul West wants them to build on that.

He said: “It was frustrating for the players but we have got to move on and hopefully take some positives out of that. We started superbly.

“We are not getting carried away because we had a good 30 minutes. It’s about rolling our sleeves up and working hard and if they do that I am sure they’ll get their rewards.”

Left-back Jamie Hyde misses the trip to Oxfordshire through a one-match ban, while striker Roland Agbor continues to be sidelined with a broken wrist.

Matt Sysum Made Club Captain

Centre-half Matt Sysum, who joined from Cirencester Town earlier this month, has been made club captain.
