Evesham United score late on to draw 1-1 against Yate Town meaning it’s back-to-back draws for The Robins.

The first half was a very close encounter between the two sides, but nothing came about and was poor quality from both sides.

The only stand out chance which was at best a half chance fell to Levi Steele who had the ball around 35-40 yards out and his attempt at lobbing the keeper came to nothing as it was held by the keeper comfortably.

The second half was much livelier and two minutes in, Yate’s striker Nick McCootie who has been in fine form as of late was through on goal down the left-hand side, but his effort was fired high and wide.

Shortly after this chance, Yate nearly scored again and this time through Oliver Jenkins but Ben Taylor made a magnificent save at full stretch.

Just under 20 minutes from time Yate opened the scoring through Jenkins.

This goal opened the game up a lot more and forced The Robins to come out and attack more.

It took just seven minutes for the hosts to find an equaliser and what an equaliser it was; the ball fell to Ethan Moran on the edge of the box who cut across the ball first time and his strike curved into the bottom corner.

Both sides now remain unbeaten in 2024.
