Evesham United suffered their second loss in seven games on Tuesday night as Westbury United took home all three points.

Second-half goals from Joseph Stradling and Aaron Cockerill sealed The Robins’ fate following a goalless first 45 minutes.

From minute one, the visitors began to apply pressure as early chances from Mathew Morris troubled the Evesham goal.

Following an early substitution for Charlie Wise due to a suspected muscle injury, Daniel Ray-Djurovic found the head of Daniel Griffiths in the 41st minute, though his effort was saved.

Heading into the final 45 minutes, Westbury picked up their first goal, a six-yard tap-in scored by Stradling after Edward Brearey parried away a powerful effort into the path of the striker.

Despite an 81st minute free-kick effort by Adam Mace from 22 yards out, Cockerill put Westbury two goals up in the 90th minute to send them home happy.

A tough result for The Robins to take under the lights, but they are back in action on Saturday as they welcome Hamworthy United to the Spiers & Hartwell Stadium.
