Sunday football returned yet again to The Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium, this time the visitors were Larkhall Athletic who were looking to maintain their unbeaten streak away from home.

It was the first chance for the Evesham United faithful to see their 2 recent signings with Andy Hannah making his debut in goal and defender Adam Page making his home debut having played against Moneyfields the previous week.

The games early exchanges were fairly even with both sides having their fair share of misplaced passes, as the game reached the 10-minute mark it all of a sudden became a more physical affair with both sides showing they were up for the challenge.

The first opportunity of the game came in the 19th minute, When Evesham old boy Lewis Powell linked up with Harry Hope, but Larkhall’s Lambert scuffed his shot wide to the left of the goal. With the home side now on the back foot it was their turn to threaten, when Will Wellon’s header from an Adam Page corner went just wide.

Left back Will Tunnicliff showed his desire on 26 minutes when he picked the ball up in the centre circle, made a great run only to see his shot go just over the bar. In the 37th minute another great run by Tunnicliffe in an overlapping move with Page was rewarded with a goal as the defender lifted the ball over Semmens in the Larkhall goal.

The second half started with the home side creating more chances but unable to capitalise on any of them, which would cost them dearly as the game went on. The Robins Best chance to double the lead when Jacob Davidge’s shot at an open goal at the side netting, Further chances came for Tumelty and Simpson whose header hit the crossbar.

The home side paid the ultimate price for their many missed chances in the 88th minute when Larkhall equalised when Jack Dancey’s shot was deflected into the goal following their first corner of the match.

With the scores all level at the final whistle Larkhall’s unbeaten streak away from home in the league had been maintained and ‘The Robins’ dropped to seventh in the Evo-Stik League South Division One South table.
