Match Report Evesham United 2 vs Bemerton Heath Harlequins 1

Report by Josh Rogers

Evesham United keep their unbeaten run in 2024 alive after they beat Bemerton Heath Harlequins 2-1 in an enthralling encounter.

It took Evesham 18 minutes to open the scoring after a ball was whipped in which was met by the head of Levi Steele who hit it down to Moran where he was there to slot it in the bottom right-hand corner.

Just under 20 minutes later Bemerton Heath equalised through Remus Nixon with what was a wonderful strike from outside the box.

However, two minutes later Evesham replied instantly as a corner was curled in by Moran and was met at the back post by Charlie Wise who nodded it past the keeper.

The second half was just as entertaining if not even better than the first half despite no goal being scored.

Nearly ten minutes into the second half, the ball was rolled across the face of goal but there was no one on the end of it.

Shortly after, Bemerton keeper Creese pulled off a superb double stop to keep out Freddie Willcox and Steele.

The Bemerton goal was being peppered all of the second period and halfway through Steele was put through one on one but the keeper once again made a great stop to keep out the Evesham number 9.

The Robins were solid from back to front throughout the game despite conceding an unstoppable shot.

In the reverse game back in October, Evesham put five past the visitors but created less chances so on another day it could’ve been five, six or even seven.
