The Bank Holiday period ended pointless for Highworth as they suffered a heavy defeat at home to Evesham Utd today.

For the second time this season the Worthians felt an Evesham player should have been dismissed early only for that player to receive only a yellow card and then go on to score. On this occasion an horrendous tackle on Wayne Turk was seen by the referee as only warranting a caution, a decision which may even surprised those involved with the visitors.

Highworth actually took the lead on 12 minutes when Ash Edenborough beat a defender and rounded the keeper before slotting home.

Kane Simpson scored twice for the visitors with a penalty on 20 minutes and a free kick on 20 yards, The added time in the first half due to attention to Wayne Turk earlier cost Highworth dear as goals from Cry Simpson (46) and Sahne Anson (48) made it 1-4 at half time.

Highworth started the second half brightly with a couple of goal line clearances keeping the score the same but the forward power Evesham have showed as Cory Simpson(65), Kye Simpson (78) and Kane Simpson (81) completed the scoring.
