Evesham United snatch a late point against Melksham Town after Aaron Heap scored his first goal for the club to make it 1-1.

It seems like a stuck record when it comes to the first half of an Evesham United game, dull and uninteresting with very little chances being created.

The first chance came just before the half hour mark as Levi Steele’s effort was parried by the keeper which looked to be snapped up by Ethan Moran, however the keeper beat him to it and managed to the claim the ball and make it his.

Talking of stuck records, The Robins once again received a red card in the dying minutes of the first half which went to Alfie Dunn after he was deemed by the referee to be showing studs, and that now makes it seven red cards in eight games.

The task for Evesham had become a lot harder with one man less and just over 15 minutes into the second half that proved to be the case as Melksham took the lead with a superb free kick from around 25-30 yards out.

However, there was a lifeline for United ten minutes later as Melksham also received a red card, and it went to Ben Brooks.

The final stages of the game were dominated by Evesham, and it took a 91st minute equaliser by Heap to steal that late point.

Despite it being just a draw, Evesham remain just three points outside the playoffs.
