Another dominant display by Evesham United made it nine league wins on the spin and a league `double` against Wimborne Town with a well deserved 3-1 victory on a wet and windy afternoon at the Cuthbury. Goals by Mark Magee, Adam Mann and Paul Fahy eased United to victory and stretches the unbeaten run to ten games. A hatful of players were missing for the Robins, goalkeeper Kevin Sawyer, Ashley Williams and 17-goal Lance Smith were absent together with Elliot Kennedy, Jordan Bryan and Will Wellon. Promising Youth teamers Thomas Ravenhall and Tomas Leonard travelled to the South coast and were included on the substitutes bench along with Carl Brown who was available for only the second time this season.

United set the tone of the game from the start causing all sorts of problems for the under pressure Wimborne defenders. Magee planted an early header on the roof of the Wimborne net and great work by Mann and Magee ended with Fahy pulling his shot narrowly wide with keeper Pat O`Flaherty beaten. Mann was again in the thick of the action providing a cross that Lewis Binns headed over and then O`Flaherty did well to keep out Nick Stanley`s powerfully struck free kick.

But on 30 minutes the home defence was finally breached when O`Flaherty could only push Mann`s drive into the path of the predatory Magee who coolly slotted home for 1-0. On the stroke of half-time United`s pressure was rewarded again with a second goal courtesy of the impressive Mann who charged through from midfield and beat O`Flaherty all ends up with a terrific shot from 20 yards.

By now the result was in the bag but United continued to look for more goals in the second half. Leading up to the hour O`Flaherty pushed aside Linden Dovey`s snap-shot and relieved to see Magee`s effort brush the woodwork when rooted to his line. In some rare action at the other end, keeper Sam Gilder made an important save at his near post to keep out James Stokoe and then Luke Holmes ballooned his shot high and wide from just outside the box. But eventually a third goal duly arrived in the 86th minute when a ball in from the left was helped on by Brown to Fahy and he rifled home an unstoppable shot into the top corner of O`Flaherty`s net. As the game moved towards its conclusion, Wimborne pulled a goal back through top scorer Toby Holmes but the damage had already been done with United clocking up an impressive 6th win away from home this season.
