Evesham United progressed to the final of the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup with a penalty shoot out victory over Worcester City.

Sam Gilder saved one spot kick, with two hitting the woodwork to help Paul Collicutt’s side through to face Kidderminster Harriers in the final at the Jubilee Stadium next Tuesday.

Adam Mann put Evesham ahead in the 11th minute, but Worcester levelled through a trialist after 54 minutes.

Mark Magee, Matt Williams and Greg Peel were all successful for Evesham in the shoot out, with only Bradley Gray missing.

Dave Reynolds, Mark Danks and Aaron Griffiths missed for Worcester, with only Mathew Birley converting.

The win means midfielder Ashley Williams will serve another match of his four game ban for a sending off in last season’s play-off semi-final at Salisbury and only miss two Southern League games at the start of the new campaign.
