Evesham travelled to Bath to take on Larkhall in the league opener.

The Larks went in front when confusion in the Evesham area resulted in centre-half Leroy Odiero heading into his own net on 11 minutes.

The second half was end to end stuff. Evesham had a goal disallowed early in the half. Strong possession from Matt Groves enabled Cory Simpson to place a pin-point cross in the box for George King to fire into the top corner of Kevin Sawyer’s net on 63 minutes to put the hosts up 2-0.

In the 78th minute, the visitors exploited a mix-up with the Larks’ defence to narrow the lead to 2-1 with a goal from Bradley Gray, and then equalised through Matthew Liddiard after sustained pressure with five minutes left.

So a good comeback to secure an away point.
