Evesham United manager Paul West has warned his players against taking anything for granted at basement boys Sholing tomorrow (3pm).

United were buoyed by salvaging a 2-2 Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West draw at promotion-hopefuls Tiverton Town last Saturday when Jamie Hyde grabbed a last-minute leveller.

But West knows Sholing will be no pushovers, particularly as the Southampton outfit, who drew 2-2 at fifth-placed Merthyr Town on Tuesday, have eight games in hand due to cup competitions and postponements.

The Evesham United boss said: “Everybody goes out to win games but we have to be realistic. We just want to have a positive outlook.

“They are going to be a tough side but all I am asking the players to do is put performances in.”

West added: “If they do that the results, more often than not, will go the way you want them to.

“We look forward to it with a bit of confidence after Saturday and getting a late equaliser. We can build on that.”

Former Leamington midfielder Sam Adkins is set to continue after making his debut last weekend and right-back Jared Wilson could return after two months on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Midfielder Simon Fitter starts a three-match ban following his red card against Taunton, while striker Carl Brown serves a one-game suspension for two yellow cards.

The match is subject to a 9.30am pitch inspection.
