U18 Girls Central Warks Cup Quarter Final:

Woodlands U18 Girls  0-6  Evesham United Girls U18

Evesham’s U18 Girls went to North Derby to play Woodlands on a snowy Saturday morning to book their place in the Semi- Final of the Central Warks U18 Cup.

Straight from the kick off the United girls powered forward to try and get a grip on the game, even though they were missing 3 regular players.

After 15 minutes their pressure paid off and Hannah Kedward slipped a ball through to Zoe Pygott to pass under the keeper.

Kelly Fowkes and the returning Rosie Preston were causing problems for Woodlands down the flanks and Hannah Campbell, Shannon Murphy and Pygott were giving the central defenders a torrid time.

The defensive line of Amy Campbell, Lauren Cowley, Beth Guy and Millie Meadows were having to be alert as the 2 Woodlands strikers were combining well.

Clare Hampton in the Evesham goal pulled off an excellent double save to keep the score sheet blank whilst at the other end Kedward met a Preston corner to power in a half volley to make it 2-0

In the second half Evesham moved up the gears and further goals from Murphy, Fowkes and two from Hannah Campbell gave the team a deserved 6-0 victory and a Semi Final at home to Coventry City Girls.

Hannah Watts put in her usual hard working display alongside Player of the Day Kedward, but overall it was the team performance which put the gloss on a very professional display all round.

Well done girls you were all a credit to Evesham United!!

The girls next game is on Saturday 23rd February at Wednesfield  KO 10.30 – all supporters would be very welcome.

The team are looking for new players for next season to add to this very strong squad as many of the current players are leaving for University.
