Evesham United striker Lance Smith has turned down the opportunity to join Hednesford Town. The Northern Premier League Premier Division club put in seven days’ notice of approach. He held talks with the Staffordshire club, but has decided to remain at the Jubilee Stadium.
“Lance is a local lad and the crowd think the world of him,” Evesham boss Paul Collicutt said.
“I think the travelling was a factor, but I am very pleased he is staying with us.”
Smith has scored seven goals this season, including four in the recent 5-0 win at Bridgwater Town.
