We are delighted to announce two new players who have agreed to join us for the 2023/24 season, forward Levi Steele and defender Toby Raison.

Levi Steele

Levi is a prolific striker who certainly knows where the back of the net is. Levi has previously played for Southam United, with whom he had an impressive scoring record bagging 57 goals in just 36 competitive games for them.

FC Stratford secured the services of the forward at the start of the 2021/22 season. In 19 appearances he scored 16 goals. He moved to Easington Sports at the end of November 2021. He joined North Leigh in February 2022 scoring 16 goals in 19 games until the end of that season. Levi moved to Pershore Town towards the end of last season scoring 9 goals in 12 matches, helping them to win the league.

I have agreed to join Evesham United as I wanted to play under Mike Ford. A big name who has managed some good clubs. When I got the offer to come here, it was a no brainer really. Another reason for joining are the brilliant facilities and be part of a brilliant club. I cannot wait to get started.

Toby Raison

Toby is a tall commanding central defender who likes to organise the back line. After coming through Hereford FC’s youth system, the 21 year old enjoyed two years with the first team making his debut when he was 18. He took in loan moves at Bromsgrove Sporting and Merthyr Town at Step 3 to help further his development. Toby played last season at Yate Town.

So after I spoke to Mike I could tell how ambitious he was and it really matched my ambition. I am really looking to progress and I think Mike will be the perfect gaffer to help me kick on and improve and have a successful season. It is a really good set up with great facilities. We obviously have the 3G as well for training which is perfect. I am really looking forward to getting to work.

On the two new signings, manager Mike Ford said

“I am looking forward to working with Levi. Unfortunately I could not get him in towards the end of last season when he became available. He knows the level and has achieved promotion in 2021/22 with North Leigh. He gets goals, is physically good and will run through a brick wall for you, and on top of that he is a great lad.”

“I tried to sign Toby for St. Ives Town when he became available as a loan from Hereford, I could not get it done. Alex my number two also tried to get him in at Cinderford Town but could not get that completed either. He played a number of games last year at Step Three., which would have helped his development. He is good physically, tall, and will without doubt make us better and put pressure on lads in the team to play well. So two good signings. It feels we are better with them in the squad, than we were last year.”

On the Evesham United Squad, Mike has given this update.

“Almost all of them have committed to next season, Ethan Moran has moved on, I wish him all the best. The loan players have gone back to their respective clubs. Lots of people talk about how last season went. We had a stabilising season and established ourselves as one of the better teams in the league, we have to improve on last year’s finishing position to be seen to make progress next season. The group does not need ripping up, in lots of ways we were good enough and in some ways we were not quite and we need to be. I am really pleased with the potential of a couple more signings to support the team and help the squad. We will be in a good position to hit the ground running on August 12th when the season starts.”
