We have signed former Cardiff City and QPR winger Leon Jeanne,

Jeanne made two appearances for Evesham in July, with boss Paul Collicutt saying he could do things with a football he did not think were possible.

He played against Kidderminster Harriers in the Worcestershire Senior Cup and also featured in the 7-0 friendly win over Littleton.

The 35-year-old has since had some personal matters to deal with, but he has now penned a monthly deal at the Jubilee Stadium.

“Leon has had his problems, but his football ability is outstanding,” Collicutt said.

“Some people may question this signing, but I think everyone deserves a chance and you can’t help but like the lad.

“He is a feisty character and I am giving him the chance to do what he does best, which is playing football.

“He is an entertainer and he will put smiles on the fans’ faces.”

In his autobiography Walking Tall, England and Stoke City striker Peter Crouch described Jeanne as “the most talented I have ever played with.”

Jeanne started out at QPR with Crouch, making 12 first team appearances for the West London club before joining home city club Cardiff in 2001.

He has since appeared for a long list of non-league and Welsh League clubs, including Havant and Waterlooville, Merthyr, Newport and Bath City as well as brief spell at Cinderford Town.

In other transfer news, defender/midfielder James Bloom is awaiting international clearance from the Welsh FA to join us from Southern Premier League side Merthyr Town.  Cardiff born James began his career with Cardiff City, and joined Falkirk following his release. James played for Alloa Athletic on loan, and joined Gloucester City when his contract ended. He signed for Port Talbot Town in January 2012, before joining Newton in the summer of 2014. He sustained a serious knee injury while at Newton, and signed for Merthyr Town in the summer of 2015.
