Evesham left the Spencer Stadium with a well deserved draw to remain unbeaten away from home in the Evo-Stik Southern South & West Division. It was a much improved display by the Robins after the disappointing FA Cup exit at Chasetown three days earlier and only an assistant`s flag denied United from snatching an injury-time winner.

Evesham made a positive start and threatened inside the opening five minutes when Jack Harding in the Banbury goal successfully saved at full stretch to turn around a post George Washbourne`s first-time drive. Evesham continued to enjoy the majority of possession in the first half and Liam Harding forced the home stopper into another good save as United looked the more adventurous of the two sides. Sean Wood then went close to breaking the deadlock but the midfielder`s snap-shot was hacked off the Banbury goal-line by Andy Gunn.

Kevin Sawyer who had a quiet first 45 minutes, was then called upon to make his only save of the half when he showed good reflexes to hold onto Duran Martin`s snap-shot. The second half was evenly contested with neither goalkeeper unduly troubled, both sides continued to play some neat approach football but lacked a cutting edge in the final third. Harding did touch over Washbourne`s cross-shot and Sawyer gathered safely from the hardworking Gunn but then in added-time Nick Stanley found the net from close range only for United`s celebrations to be cut short when the `goal` was disallowed for offside.
