Evesham United held an interval lead only to concede two second-half goals and lose their unbeaten start against high-flying AFC Totton in the Southern League Division One South & West on Saturday.

Evesham were by far the better side in the first-half but switched off after the break allowing Craig Feeney to score twice and take all three points back to Hampshire.

United`s prospects looked good when the Robins went ahead after just nine minutes. Ashley Edenborough returning from injury made a terrific run into the visitor`s box before finding Jared Wilson who crashed in his second goal of the season past Steve Mowthorpe. For the remainder of the half Evesham always looked threatening, Edenborough went within a whisker on a couple of occasions and then the striker tested Mowthorpe after good work by livewire Marcus Jackson. Totton`s Kyle o`Brien forced United keeper Kevin Sawyer to make a trademark flying save before Nathan Jackson and Edenborough again, both went close with half-time approaching.

HALF-TIME: Evesham United (1) AFC Totton (0)

Totton showed their intentions at the start of the second-half when Feeney headed over when well placed but then the same player levelled for the visitors just before the hour mark when he got between a couple of defenders and coolly beat the advancing Sawyer. Skipper Matt Sysum landed a header on the roof of Mowthorpe`s net, but it was Feeney who struck again ten minutes from time with another

excellent finish after good work by Jamie Bulpitt. Evesham came alive after the goal, Lance Smith glanced a header the wrong side of a post and in stoppage-time United had penalty appeals waved aside when Sysum appeared to be bundled over in the box attempting to get on the end of Sean Wood`s flag-kick.
