This match turned on a decision to send off goal-keeper Louie Barnfather after apparently bringing down the Wimborne Town forward and preventing a goal-scoring opportunity.  This put Evesham down to ten men and the resultant penalty put the home side 3-1 down at half-time.  Earlier Lance Smith had put Evesham ahead from a Marcus Palmer cross in the 5th minute, with an equaliser on 29 minutes from Griffin.  A mistake by Barnfather then allowed Gamble a tap-in to make it 2-1.

In the second half, Smith scored Evesham’s second before two goals in four minutes by Webb on 60 and 64 minutes thwarted any Evesham revival.  In injury time Gamble made it 6-2 and completed his hat-trick.
