Evesham United will be looking for an improved showing when they visit higher-graded Bedworth United in the first round of the Red Insure Cup (7.45pm).

The Robins fell to a 3-0 defeat at Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West rivals Larkhall Athletic on Saturday. It was Evesham’s heaviest loss of the season against the side who ended their promotion dreams at the play-off semi-final stage last term. Although Dan MacDonald went close with a couple of early opportunities, Evesham posed little threat late on and have dropped to 10th in the table.

Bedworth play one tier above Evesham – in the Premier Division – but are struggling in 22nd spot with just eight points from 14 matches.

Bedworth suffered a 5-1 league defeat at seventh-placed Hungerford Town on Saturday.
