Evesham United striker Lance Smith looks set to miss the rest of the season with ankle ligament damage according to the Worcester News.

Smith suffered the “nasty injury” in Evesham’s 5-1 win at Bridgwater Town last Saturday and manager Paul Collicutt fears the 17-goal forward might not appear again this season.

“It is a nasty injury, so we will see how he responds to treatment over the next couple of weeks,” he said.

“But at the minute it looks very doubtful we see him again this season.”

Evesham are also without suspended centre-half Linden Dovey and unavailable goalkeeper Kevin Sawyer for tomorrow’s home match against Mangotsfield United (3pm).

The Robins aim to secure a third win on the trot in Southern League Division One South and West but Collicutt said he was wary of their 14th-placed opponents.

“They had an exceptionally good result on Monday, beating Swindon Supermarine,” he said.

“They also beat North Leigh 4-0 away, so we must have our wits about us.”
