In-form Evesham United will select their “strongest side” tonight as they look to put whipping boys Bashley to the sword (7.45pm) according to the Worcester News.

The play-off-chasing Robins secured a third win on the spin in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West with a 5-2 victory over Larkhall Athletic on Saturday. In stark contrast, Bashley are cut adrift at the foot of the table having lost 31 of their 32 games and conceded 148 goals.

But Evesham boss Paul Collicutt said he would not be taking them lightly and has urged his players to do a “professional job” at the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium.

“I will look to start my strongest side because it would be disrespectful if I didn’t,” he said. “I have been in a similar position to Bashley during my playing career and the one thing they will do is fight for every ball. They are a young side who will work their socks off and make life very difficult for us. But I just hope the extra quality in the side will come through.”

Recent loan signing Karnell Chambers is unavailable after being called back by Cheltenham Town. Keeper Kevin Sawyer is struggling through illness and Will Wellon (thigh) is also a doubt.

Evesham are four points off the play-offs after beating Larkhall and Collicutt added: “The lads are playing with confidence but there is still a lot of football to be played. We have got 10 games left and we will keep pushing but what the lads have done in the last week has kept our season alive.”
