Evesham United will be without three key players due to suspension tomorrow (3pm) as they attempt to get back to winning ways against Bridgwater Town at the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium writes Geoff Berkeley in the Worcester News.

Midfielder Clayton Green, centre-half Matt Sysum and Ashley Williams, who have made almost 50 appearances between them this season, are all unavailable for the Southern League Division One South and West clash.

Manager Paul Collicutt had hoped midfielder Williams would be in the frame to face Bridgwater as he was due to complete his ban against Bishops Cleeve last Sunday.

But after the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, his suspension has been carried forward.

“Having the game against Bishops Cleeve called off hasn’t benefitted us at all, it has just caused more problems as Ashley, Matt and Clayton are all suspended tomorrow now,” he said.

“It makes life difficult when you are not consistently playing every Saturday. You can train all you like but at the end of the day there is nothing like playing.”

Collicutt confirmed the Robins are still on the lookout for a new player but, with defender Liam Harding and Jared Wilson returning from injury, he said they have got a good enough side to beat 19th-placed Bridgwater.

“We have not done badly lately as we have won six, drawn three and lost one but we know it could be better,” said Collicutt, whose side drew 2-2 against play-off-chasing Banbury United in their last league game.

“It was a difficult match against Banbury and the lads showed an awful lot of character in windy conditions.

“But we need to get back to winning ways and we will go up against Bridgwater looking to get all three points.”
