Growers United was launched in October last year by Vicarage Nurseries, a local horticultural business.
The Growers United FC initiative – whose aims are to raise funds for charity, promote horticulture and agriculture, and encourage integration between communities.
Tomorrow, Growers United will be part of a family sports day (beginning at 10am), which is being supported by Wychavon District Council and hosted once again by EUFC.
On the day there will be a seven-a-side football tournament (9.30am), with a variety of attractions for the whole family including live music, art workshops, ethnic foods, face painting, fitness activities and a climbing wall.
The sporting day will culminate with Growers United playing football against a team of former West Bromwich Albion players (kick-off at 4pm). Admission is FREE.
The proceeds from the event will go towards Growers United’s chosen children’s charity, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and also to purchase an additional defibrillator to be based at Evesham United’s ground so that it can serve the local area.
