Evesham moved six places to 4th, albeit having played more games, after defeating visiting Wantage 2-1 this afternoon.
The home side came out of the traps quickly and took the lead in the fifth minute when Dan Macdonald set up Adam Mann who struck his first goal of the season. Despite creating a number of half chances Evesham could not add to their lead.
After the break, Evesham again started well and this time it was Man of the Match Adam Mann who turned provider for George Washbourne who shot into the bottom left hand corner. Evesham were very unlcukky not to get a penalty when Sean Wood was fouled in the box, who was booked for simulation. In the 72nd minute Sam Collier headed home to give Wantage hope, but Evesham managed to secure victory leaving them with a six match unbeaten league run.
