Evesham entertained Mangotsfield United this afternoon knowing only a victory would do in their  hopes to make the play-offs.

After a scrappy start, Mangotsfield found themselves down to ten men in the 28th minute, when Ryan Batten was given a straight red card after bringing down Nathan Modest and from the resultant free-kick, Adam Mann put Evesham ahead for his 28th goal of the season.

Towards the break, Mangotsfield had the better of the game but failed to take the opportunities they had.

Evesham finally got a foothold in the match and in the 79th minute Carl Brown found the bottom left-hand corner from 15 yards, following a good run from Karnell Chambers.

In the 86th minute, Clayton Green did some good work to set up a clinical finish by Mann for his second of the game.

Not one of the home’s sides best displays but the win was the most crucial thing.  Evesham’s run is now one defeat in twelve and remain in 6th, but now five points behind Swindon Supermarine with four games left.

Evesham United: Thompson, Harding, Green, Brown, Sysum, Wellon, Sloggett (Wood 72), Williams, Mann, Modest (Chambers 62), Binns
