Evesham gained a point away at Slimbridge this evening. In a hard fought game, which saw both sides cancelling each other out to a large extent, a draw was probably a fair result on the night, and leaves Evesham with a draw and a loss this season.

The first half was largely uneventful, with the sides managing a single shot on target between them – it came from Ashley Williams for the visitors on 21 minutes, but presented a simple stop for Swans’ Keeper Dave Evans.

The second period saw more goalmouth action – Slimbridge went close a couple of minutes after the break, when Adam Mace’s cross just eluded the onrushing Paul Fahy and then Mace himself shot wide in an early period of pressure from the hosts. Evesham responded, and Nick Stanley’s header which drifted wide was the best of their early efforts. Sean Lawson went close with a shot across goal just after the hour for the home side, while at the other end, Clayton Green just failed to connect with a dangerous cross to leave the game scoreless. Adam Mann shot wide as the game entered the last 15 minutes, and Matt Sysum went close with a header which was well turned over by Evans, but in the end the sides remained deadlocked.
