Evesham fell to a 2-1 defeat in Hampshire against fourth placed Winchester City and in so doing ending their eight match unbeaten run.

Decimated by illness, unavailability and suspension Evesham got off to the worst possible start in the 3rd minute when Adam Tomasso scored for the hosts.  The visitors rallied and were guilty of missing a number of good chances and should have gone into the break at least level or indeed in front.

In the 63rd minute Winchester scored a controversial goal through Charlie Smeeton from close range whereby the referee after what seemed an eternity overruled the assistant’s flag for offside.

In the 87th minute, Evesham finally scored when Adam Mann cut in from the right and his shot went in off the post for his 11th goal of the season.  In injury time Clayton Green was sent off for retaliation for a push.

All in all one of those days, where we could easily have won and the opponents would have no complaints.  The opposite to the match in August at the Jubilee.

Next up Banbury United at home on Boxing Day at 3pm.
