Evesham United boss Paul Collicutt is seeking a replacement for midfielder George Washbourne, who has left to join Chasetown writes the Gloucestershire Echo.

The former Forest Green professional is now studying at the University of Worcester, but returns home to Staffordshire at weekends and has therefore opted to join the Northern Premier League Division One South side.

“It came out of the blue, but George is local to Chasetown and he goes home at weekends, so it makes sense for him,” Collicutt said. “He’s played more for me than any other manager in the last 15 or 16 months.”

Forest Green youngster Louis McGrory will stay at Evesham for another month on loan.

Evesham travel to Mangotsfield United tonight (7.45pm), with Liam Harding (calf) and Dan Macdonald (flu) both out.

Jared Wilson is close to making his comeback from long term injury however after appearing for Cheltenham Civil Service to rebuild his match fitness.

Collicutt wants to see his side build on Saturday’s 4-0 home win over Burnham. “It was a positive result, but Mangotsfield away on a Tuesday night is always tough,” he said. “We went there last year after going out of the FA Cup to Bromley the previous Saturday and they turned us over 3-0, but we’ll go there in much better spirits this time.”
