New Evesham United manager Paul Collicutt says making the Jubilee Stadium a place for opponents to fear is top of his priorities.

The Robins host Yate Town in the Calor Southern League Division One South and West tomorrow (3pm) having won just twice in the league on home soil this season.

One of those victories, 2-1 against Shortwood United, came in Collicutt’s first game in charge earlier this month and he has vowed to make sure more home wins follow.

He said: “The one thing I have got to try and improve is our home performances. Teams have been coming to the Jubilee Stadium and liking what they see in the facilities and making life very hard for Evesham to win games.

“It’s my job now to turn that around and make Evesham a stronghold for ourselves.”

Collicutt’s side followed up the Shortwood success with a 1-1 draw at Bridgwater Town last Saturday and the manager has been impressed with the attitude shown.

He added: “They have done what I have asked them to do which is encouraging and the thing now is to build on that.”
